Regina Gilligan
Regina is the co-owner of SESCO Electrical, Inc.
and comes from a background as an artist doing
sculpture and painting, still her favorite things to
do in addition to swimming. She was educated as
an artist, and has worked in art, design and
teaching as well as doing administrative work in
the architectural and building trades. She
presently lives in Richmond with her husband, SESCO co-owner Peitsa
Hirvonen. She sums up her electrical work experience like this: “I
listen to electrical problems and I know good electricians.”
She was born in Philadelphia, PA, but in her early twenties, she
traveled to and settled in San Francisco and areas in the east bay. If
she could live anywhere in the world, though, it would be
Madagascar, with its many cultures, and unique flora and fauna and is
a place which provides a good opportunity to help out amid beauty.
Because of her interest in and love of nature, a person Regina
admires greatly is Waaseri Matthai for inspiring the planting of 20-30
million trees, and the organization she admires greatly is Global
Exchange.
Aside from her husband, Peitsa, Regina’s immediate family consists of
her daughters Nadja and Eva and her stepson Mikko.
Regina says, “I’ve worked a good part of my life as an artist, both as a
livelihood in theater and production companies, and as a means of
personal expression and in collaboration with other artists, and
community,” She continues, describing her wish to do “work that
brings people together, doing good quality work, that considers the
environment.”
