Huy Nguyen
He decided to become an electrician because he is excited about
learning new things and likes the idea of working in different
locations.
Born in Boston, Mass., his family moved when he was two to Oakland,
then again when he was 13 to El Cerrito, where Huy spent the next
13 years of his life. He recently was fortunate enough to buy a fixer-
upper in Richmond, where his new skills as an electrician are very
helpful.
When he's not working on his house, he is exercising or playing sports
such as football, soccer, basketball and hacky sack.
Huy says of himself that he "tries think ahead, but not overthink.
That's how you stay young."
Huy is one of three trainees SESCO Electrical
employs. Huy attends classes at the Construction
Craft Training Center while getting on-the-job
experience, and off-the-job practical instruction
from our electricians and our safety officer. His
previous work experience was as a graphic
designer.
